When it comes to selling online, I had not looked any further than through my own e-commerce website.
It wasn’t until I attended a presentation from a member of the e-Solutions team with Invest NI that I thought any differently. He pointed out that the most popular market places for start-up businesses are eBay and Amazon.
Some of the facts and figures outlined in the presentation were hard to ignore and I would be foolish to not take them on board.
In order best gain an understanding of selling through these channels I felt I would need some pointers. Fortunately Invest NI will be holding a number of workshops next month that focus exactly on what I require.
I have signed up for the beginner session which will be aimed at companies who have not sold on eBay/Amazon or have tried on a small scale. Topics covered in this session include:
- Introduction to eBay, Amazon, Play.com etc.
- Opportunity and shape of the market today
- Changes happening to eBay in 2013
- Customer Expectations
I hope this will be very useful and if anyone else is interested you can sign-up here.
My main aim is still to create an awesome e-commerce website, however if I can gain sales through these online marketplaces, it can only be a good thing.
